More than twenty five years ago the Museum for African Art NYC opened its doors to the public, dedicating itself to the arts and culture of Africa and the African Diaspora. Today, it is recognized as a paramount source for exhibitions and publications related to historical and contemporary African art. In claiming its place on the renowned Museum Mile, the museum will be the first to be built on Fifth Avenue since the Guggenheim in 1959.
